Christmas Journal Hello Everyone, hoping you are all getting into the Christmas Spirit.  After watching and helping (slightly) Sammy, my grandson, create and make his Christmas projects for Aunty Vera this month; I just couldn't help myself and could no longer stay in the background and NOT make something from this months items from Aunty Vera. So, there was a little of the gorgeous papers left from Echo Park A Cosy Christmas Collection and I just had to make myself a personal junk journal out of it....and also score another point for "Santa"...lol lol ! I wanted a simple put together journal so I used a rather large yellow envelope that I purchased at a 'cheapo' / discount store near where I live. The envelope size is 13 inches by 9 inches. I measured out the center and marked a half an inch either side which gave me an inch spine for my journal. I appologise for not taking any progress photos as this project was a very spur of the mome...

Sammy's Christmas Diorama This is the final Christmas craft Sammy has for the month...and my word, he thoroughly enjoyed himself with creating this Christmas Diorama. He used the hot glue gun by himself, he raided my supplies and he just went for it. I must appologise, I really forgot to take a few process photos of him crafting this...but I will give you an overall run-down of his process.  Sammy chose a patterned paper of the sleds from Echo Parks A Cosy Christmas and I measured and cut it to size of the bottom of the box. I then showed Sammy how to put the box on it's side and glue it into the box lid (which we used as a base). Then Sammy went to town and started hot gluing all his elements on to the box. He used plastic pine branches, a reindeer ornament and a tin soldier from my supplies as well as some festive ribbon and a few glittered flowers.  I wasn't too sure if he planned where to put the pieces but I think in the end it worked out for him...

Handmade Christmas Cards By Sammy For this project, Sammy wanted to make his very own Christmas cards for his mates at school. I had quite a few plain white blank cards and envelopes in my own supplies and that's what Sammy used as his base for the cards. Sammy and I measured the size to cut a piece of patterned paper, to cover the front of the white card. He chose several different patterns from the Echo Park A Cosy Christmas Collection and used  the cutting board to cut them. He used double sided tape to adhere the patterned paper on to the white card base. While Sammy was gluing down the front of the card, I used the Cottage Cutz Merry Christmas Tree Phrase in the Big Shot and cut a few for Sammy to use on the cards. Sammy also cut out a few of the 3x4 cut outs from the paper range, so he could mix and match. I also used the Tim Holtz Thinlits Alterations Largest size die so Sammy could have a layer under the Merry Christmas sign. ...

Christmas Tree Shaker Decoration By Sammy H ello Everyone, For the month of December I am going to take a back seat in making or creating any projects for Aunty Vera and let my grandson Sammy have free rein of the creative projects. Sammy, aged 7 yrs old, has been wanting to create something for Aunty Vera for a few months now and I thought during the month of December would be a great time for him to show us what he can do and have fun making some Christmas projects.I did supervise as he wanted to use the hot glue gun and cutting blade and I was very surprised how great he used them... Samuels' first project was to decorate and put together this shaker tree shaped decoration from Clearscraps. The first thing he did was to trace aroung the base of the tree on to the green piece of card from the Echo Park Corordinating cardstock pack. He then used scissors to cut the tree shape out. He then used a wet glue to paste the cut out tree shape card on the base. ...
