Well, what a year it has been for everyone...a topsy-turvy 2020 that we all somehow survived, whether it was from lacking toilet paper or to keeping ourselves safe from catching the virus. We did it!
I am so looking forward to the fun and games that are going to be held in our Crafty Vera and Friends facebook group for the month of December... #jesusvssanta.
Aunty Vera told us that we were under no obligation to make any projects but, hey, this is me and I just can't help myself...lol...
For this month, instead of doing different blog posts for each project I made, I have decided to do one blog post to share all my projects. My projects have been made to inspire you to either make the same as me or to use my projects as an inspirational base and create your own projects from it. That's my challenge to you and hopefully, somewhere along the line we can get a point for the Jesus Team.
Challenge 1 project, being the first of December, and if you haven't already, is to make a Christmas Card. This card can be something very simple to something more elaborate. We have seemed to of lost our ways when it come to pen and paper, in our technological lifestyle nowdays. I have made a selection of Christmas Cards using the Silent Night Echo Park papers, the Tim Holtz Three Wise Men Die Set as well as adding touches of ranger Silver embossing powder and the silver -------. The smaller size cards I am placing on Christmas presents this year.
The video below shows the cards I have made
using the Silent Night Echo Park paper collection.
Challenge 2 from me is to make yourself a Christmas Tree Ornament. This year I have decided to go for more of a homely country style themed Christmas and I love how my tree decorations have turned out, even if some are from recycled cardboard. The crosses are from the Kaisercraft Cross Die Set.
The video below shows you how easy it is to
make these wonderful Christma Tree decorations
Challenge 3 from me is for you to make a small handmade gift for someone. This could take in a variety of projects from the accordion style gift pocket pouch I have made or an altered notebook, a small journal...just something small that will be greatly appreciated or loved by the recipient.
I chose to make my husband a 12 Days of Christmas accordion pocket pouch where in each pocket I have placed one of our scratchie cards. So for each day starting on the 13th December, he will have a scratchie card to scratch up until the 24th December. He is going to love it.
The video below shows a flip through
and an expanation of how I made it.
Challenge 4 and my last challenge for the month is for you to make a Christmas Wall Plaque. I love the simplicity of my wall decorations in a country theme.
The video below shows my process using the Silent Night Echo Park papers and the four by four cut outs as well as some recycled cardboard...these are going to look wonderful around my Christmas Tree. So take a look and make one for yourself or use my for inspiration to create something similar.
I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas
and a safe and Happy New Year and I would also
like to thank you all for your much appreciated support during 2020.
Recently I joined a swap at our Australian Art Swap Group on facebook where we had to put together a flow-ish Journal. I absolutely love putting these together as it gives me a chance to use up a lot of papers and items I have been hoarding. A flow-ish journal is based on the Flow magazines and books with the intent that everything inside can be pulled out and used by another person in their own art works or projects. Below are a few pictures and videos of me showing you through the ones I have put together. Once I start one, I seem to want to keep making them. Todate, I think I have put together at leadt five of these types of journals and sent them to friends and swap partners. This Flow-ish journal is the one I made for the swap. The cover was a real estate guide booklet and I decided to decorate it, to make it look a little prettier. It is full of patterned papers, die cuts, tissue paper, handmade envelopes and pockets filled with odds and ends, that I thought the recipient w...
ATC HOLDERS This is a very fast and easy project. I used my the leftover image pieces from the Sweeping Plains Papers to decorate a few Artist Trading Card Holders. Each made holder can store eight ATC's.The base of the holder is made from cardstock I had in my own supplies and the pockets that hold the ATCs, I made from a manilla folder. The Base Cut your cardstock to 11" x 3". Then score at 2 1/2", 3 1/4", 7" and 7 3/4"/ Fold on score lines. The Pockets Cut your manilla folder to 6" x 4". You will need to cut and make eight pockets. Score with long side up at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". Then turn once with short side up and score at 1/2". Fold along score lines. Cut the small square off the bottom corner and then cut from 2 3/4 score line to edge, taking off the long 1/2" panel. Use your double sided Ranger LetterIT tape and place on the botton flap and the side flap. Fold over score lines to make your pocket. I used a 1" ...
Hello Everyone, Today I was still in the mood to play with the wonderful paper from Photo Play and wanted to do a project that was fun, easy and quick. I searched Pinterest for a free downloadable heart box template and was quite surprised to find one straight off the bat. What you will need for this cute heart treat box: *a free printable from pinterest *a cropodile *Blazing Red Stazon ink *Photo Play Crazy for you paper *Elements sticker sheet called Wild Love *double sided tape *some thread or twine for decoration *small brads to attach handles *small piece of cheese cloth or fabric Then I used the template to cut the shape from The Photo Play 'Crazy for you' paper and folded the paper on the marked fold lines and that gave the shape of the heart box. I inked the edges of the heart box shape with the Stazon Blazing Red Ink and was now ready to decorate the front and back of the heart. I decorated the heart shapes before I folded and adhered the box t...
