My Layout in Joan's Creatures of the Bay Journal R3

I thoroughly enjoyed working in Joan's Creatures of the Bay Journal. I started the background by using three shades of blue and purposely going lighter towards the center for the illusion of light shining down. I used a circle stencil representing the waves or tides/flows of the ocean and also the drop of water used in the saying A rather abstract view point but I do like it.




After recently having fun in my own journals using silhouettes, I decided to use a silhouette of the beautiful whales of the ocean life. There were also some lovely patterned napkins with Joan's journal and I pulled one apart and used the beautiful shells as another layer of my ocean. I know I'm using the word 'ocean' more than "Bay" but this was what I was drawn to do in Joan's journal, so I went with it. Lastly, an appropriate saying for my spread was..."In one drop of water are found all the secrets of all the oceans"...Kahil Gibran
I am very pleased with the outcome of this layout and I hope it brings you some joy Joan, Thank you.

Recently I joined a swap at our Australian Art Swap Group on facebook where we had to put together a flow-ish Journal. I absolutely love putting these together as it gives me a chance to use up a lot of papers and items I have been hoarding. A flow-ish journal is based on the Flow magazines and books with the intent that everything inside can be pulled out and used by another person in their own art works or projects. Artist Trading Card Holder- My Island Home

 ATC HOLDERS This is a very fast and easy project. I used my the leftover image pieces from the Sweeping Plains Papers to decorate a few Artist Trading Card Holders. Each made holder can store eight ATC's.The base of the holder is made from cardstock I had in my own supplies and the pockets that hold the ATCs, I made from a manilla folder. The Base Cut your cardstock to 11" x 3". Then score at 2 1/2", 3 1/4", 7" and 7 3/4"/ Fold on score lines. The Pockets Cut your manilla folder to 6" x 4". You will need to cut and make eight pockets. Score with long side up at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". Then turn once with short side up and score at 1/2". Fold along score lines. Cut the small square off the bottom corner and then cut from 2 3/4 score line to edge, taking off  the long 1/2" panel. Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft Creative Project

Hello Everyone, Today I was still in the mood to play with the wonderful paper from Photo Play and wanted to do a project that was fun, easy and quick. I searched Pinterest for a free downloadable  heart box  template and was quite surprised to find one straight off the bat. What you will need for this cute heart treat box: *a free printable from pinterest *a cropodile *Blazing Red Stazon ink *Photo Play Crazy for you paper *Elements sticker sheet called Wild Love *double sided tape *some thread or twine for decoration *small brads to attach handles *small piece of cheese cloth or fabric  Then I used the template to cut the shape from The Photo Play 'Crazy for you' paper and folded the paper on the marked fold lines and that gave the shape of the heart box.
