Small Glued Spine Journal

Image
Small Glue Spine Journal This is the last of my challenge projects for this month  and I'm sure you will find this fun and creative.   When you finish putting the journal pages together you can decorate it  however you please. But, the Graphic 45 Little Woman Collection papers  were just too beautiful not to use. It gives your small no fuss journal an air of vintage elegance. To start: I used 3 pieces of the Little Woman Collection: Boundless Beauty, Sisterly Love and Orchard House.  I cut the first paper at 16cm by 22cm. The second paper was cut at 16cm by 21.5cm and the third piece of paper was cut at 21cm. Each paper is the scored at 4 inches with the longest side up. I flip the paper around and then scored the other side at 4 inches again. This will give you a small spine once the papers have been folded. (NOTE* each spine will be a different size) The pages are then folded over at their score marks and glue is

Free Spine Journal-NSD May-2nd

Free Spine Journal This project is about making a journal you can put and keep in your Keepsake Box you made previously. A special journal with a different type of spine. The signatures aren't sewn in the actual spine cover they are sewn together independent of the spine cover. They are attached to the back inside of the journal cover. So, when you are working in this journal, no matter what page you are working on, the journal will always lay flat. I love working in these spine free journals and hope you will make one for yourself and enjoy working in it as well. I start by making my cover. I cut the cover base from Graphic 45 chipboard; two pieces at 6 1/2 inches by 5 inches and the spine piece is cut at 6 1/2 inches by 1 inch. I then glued them to a sheet of the Full Bloom Graphic 45 patterned paper. Leaving about an 1/8th of an inch gap near the spine sides and folding over about an inch around each edge. I then cut another piece of Graphic 45 patterned p

Do You Remember Keepsake Box

Do You Remember Keepsake Box GO TEAM WENDY! My first project for NSD  this month is using a recycled box and decorating it to make it into a special Keepsake box. You can keep anything you like in your box. If you are making one for your child (as I have for my daughter) you could keep a small item of clothing, a lock of hair and even a handmade journal where you have written down memories from their childhood and then place your journal in your Keepsake box you've made. Let's get started: *Please Note: I won't be giving specific measurements of my box because your box may be bigger or smaller than mine. Recycle a box from your pantry to suit you. The size of my recycled box is 9cm by 11com and height is 17cm roughly, just to give you an idea of it's size. I used a food container box (a good sturdy one) and cut off the top flaps on each of the three sides. The front side of my box had a small indent, so I cut a strip of black cardboard, folded it

'Do You Remember' Keepsake Box and Journals Hello Everyone and welcome to National Scrapbooking Month in Aunty Vera Land. This month our theme is 'Do You Remember' relating to all your wonderful memories you have stored. A lot of mine are in my head and I was thinking how wonderful it would be to put those memories in a journal/s and put those journals in a very special personalised storage box, that would look fabulous decorating any room in your house. The box is a recycled food container and I've used the gorgeous Graphic 45 Little Woman paper collection to decorate it. I've made a 'spine' free journal (blue cover). This is a little fiddle to make but well worth it in the end. I've also made a smaller journal which can be decorated to your personal choice. This smaller one is made with a little glue, some cardboard and decorated with the G45 papers. During the month I will demonstate how each item is made and I'm hoping y
